About Me

Name:  Jenny

Family: Jacob 4.5, Jameson 2, Theo (dog) 7 & husband 35

Background:   A wise person once said, “Before kids I saw in black and white and now I see in color.” This is so fitting. Please don’t think that I’m presenting myself as an authority on parenting, I’m winging  my way through this thing called motherhood. There are no manuals and  no websites that can give you all the answers you might need when it comes to raising children. Trust me, I often search Google for answers like: how often should your 9 month old be pooping? (I may mention poop again) Or how do you get your 3 year old to stop screaming in the car? There is some great advice out there, but you have to find out what truly works best for you and your child through trial and error. Don’t be afraid of tears (from you or your children) and arm yourself with hugs.

Interests: Kids, duh. In my previous life I rode motorcycles, went scuba diving, played with my dogs and did lots of outdoorsy stuff. Post children? I try to watch mindless reality TV, read a mindless book before bed and attempt to have a (usually not mindless) conversation with my husband uninterrupted.  Are you sensing a trend here? I seem to use most of my intellect during the day taking care of the boys. It takes an incredible amount of patience and creativity to answer questions such as where do hot dogs grow? Or why are there two moons? And I know that all of this will not last forever and I’ll be wishing I was wiping my boys’ snotty noses and answering these types of questions.

*Update: I am now a dedicated runner. Running has done wonders for my mental and physical state. I did my first race 7/21/12, The Dirty Dash!

Occupation: My full time occupation is taking care of the boys 24×7 and I love it. Most of the time. I am also fortunate that I am able to work for the Credit Union in the office one day a week and from home one day a week.

Disclaimer: I am by no means a writer, so bear with me. The idea for this blog started because I love to talk about my kids and our adventures. Hopefully you’ll enjoy some of what I have to share. Or, at the very least be able to relate to some of my stories. Feedback from you seasoned veterans out there doesn’t suck either. Talk to you soon!
